A relatively new bridge and causeway carry the main road across Borgarfjörður to the town of Borgarnes. The causeway blocks a large part of the fjord, and out of the main channel behind the causeway, old ice is trapped. This photo looking across the fjord was shot from the causeway and shows the trapped ice floating in the fjord.
