Neğranes

Before this trip to Iceland, I had done some work with an artist who illustrates children's books. She was illustrating a book set in Viking age Iceland, and I had provided her with information and photos of Iceland, as well as serving as a model. (I played the role of the bad Viking in the book.)

The book features horses, which in Viking age Iceland, would have closely resembled modern Icelandic horses. I tried to take a number of winter photos of Icelandic horses for her.

These horses at Neğranes were very curious and came over to see what I was doing. With their scruffy winter coats on, they were not at their most attractive.
