Few visitors to Iceland see much of Hvalfjörður (whale fjord) anymore, since a tunnel was built under the fjord. While the tunnel takes more than an hour off the travel time to Borgarnes and points north and west, it means that few visitors take the time to see the beautiful landscapes around the fjord.
