Djúpavík is the site of an abandoned herring plant on Reykjarfjörður in Strandir.  Part of the housing for the plant workers has been converted into a fabulous hotel. This view of the fjord from the hotel was taken very late at night. One of the last remaining portions of the pier where ships tied up to carry away the processed fish products from the plant is visible in the bay in the left of the photo.
