Þingvellir is a site of extraordinary historical importance, where Iceland's national parliament first met in the year 930. However, it's also a site of extraordinary beauty, especially early and late in the day when the sun is low. Here, late in the evening, a lone duck was paddling on Þingvallavatn, the lake adjacent to Þingvellir.
