Hellnar is a small village on Snæfellsnes and is a place of extraordinary beauty and serenity. The photo shows the coast near the harbor. The cliffs along the left edge of the photo are home to countless seabirds.

Hellnar is also the birthplace of Guðríður Bjarnardóttir. The Vínland sagas say that Guðríður gave birth to Snorri in Vínland, the first European born in the Americas.
