The Strandir road ends (more or less) at Trékyllisvík, a broad bay off of Húnaflói. Near the shore are Árnesstapar, a grouping of rocky crags rising from the water.

The land around the shores of Trékyllisvík is fertile farmland, and a number of farms are still in operation there. Most of the other farms in this part of Iceland were abandoned in the middle part of the 20^th century.
