A view across Reykjarfjörður to Nónhyrna from Djúpavík early in the morning. The placename Nónhyrna (3 o'clock horn) suggests that the mountain was used for telling time. When the sun was over the "horn" of the mountain, it was 3 o'clock. Looking at a map, it appears that would work nicely for Árnes on the shore of Trékyllisvík, to the north. Back |
