Ísland 2006: Hekla

Hekla, located on the other side of the Þjórsá river from my vantage point, is probably Iceland's most famous volcano. Since the settlement, it has erupted eighteen times. I used to think that Hekla had no summit, since on most of my previous visits, the summit was always obscured by clouds. Back |
