Dettifoss is a spectacular waterfalls in the river Jökulsá, a powerful glacial river. Photographs from visits in other years show the waterfalls.

This photograph was taken downriver from the falls. The mist thrown up by the falls (behind me in the photograph) crated the rainbow which spanned the gorge and the river.
