Vatnsdalur is a beautiful and historic valley. This view is across the lake Flóðið to the Víðalsfjall mountains to the west.

Further into the valley is the home of one of Iceland's earliest settlers, Ingimundur gamli. He was led to this location by the gods, and he built a temple on the site.
